Life Fitness On Demand™ classes require a strong internet connection for optimal user experience. We recommend at least 2.5 Mbps per machine as shown in the Life Fitness On Demand Getting Started Guide
We also recommend 8 units per access point since deterioration in video quality is noticed when more than 8 units are connected, as described on Page 8 of the Discover Getting Connected Guide Life Fitness Discover SE3HD Console Connecting to Network Instructions.
Currently Life Fitness SE3 HD consoles stream in max 720p resolution. For a single unit, in a modulated bandwidth testing environment, the software team has verified the following:
Quality Recommended bandwidth
720p 2.5 – 3 Mbps
540p 1.5 – 2 Mbps
360p 750 kbps – 850 kbps
Please notice that adequate internet bandwidth, location of the access point (whether or not it has a line of sight to all the equipment), and amount of units per access point will effect the Life Fitness on Demand performance.
To increase your facility’s bandwidth, please contact your internet provider.
Internet bandwidth, otherwise known as your network connection speed, is measured in Megabits per second (Mbps). To find out what your facility bandwidth is, we recommend free online websites like speedtest.net or fast.com. Simply open one of these websites on a device with a browser that is connected to your wired internet or WiFi network. The website will show you a measure of your connection speed in Mbps, then compare it to the charts below.
Note to CSS: Any new install site surveys which may include the bandwidth at the facility would be stored on the finished good order. See the following article for the Life Fitness Console and Halo Internet Connection Speed Test Procedures
